Minimum occasional housing

Home renovation in Alicante

Probably the phrase “the difficulty of a project is independent of its scale” was invented for the rehabilitation project of José and Alejandro’s guest house in Alicante. A small building that they wanted to rehabilitate to serve as a support for future guests. The property to be rehabilitated, which in its former life was a storage room for farm implements, had to be adapted to be able to receive future guests in a dignified manner in only 18 m2 under a one-water roof.

Axonometry of the house

The architectural project is conceived as an intervention of the minimum in which a piece of furniture is installed that serves as a bookshelf, staircase, bed, lighting and kitchen, a multifunctional set located in a single TOPOS. All this under a minimal budget since the bulk of the rehabilitation had been focused on the structural recovery of the cottage.
The result is a minimalist dwelling that covers all the needs of an occasional dwelling and, in addition, brings dynamism to its habitat. A modest yet effective intervention that plays with raw materials, executed by craftsmen who seek to solve challenges and avoid any ornamentation.

Project plant and flows

In Cronotopos we are as proud to rehabilitate both projects contained in 18 m2 and those resulting from 200 m2 because we are aware that the intensity in architecture and art does not understand scale, but ingenuity and efficiency.
