HOUSE DECOR 2023. Calle Serrano 92, semi corner with Juan Bravo, Madrid.

Casa Decor is an event that every year brings together the most prominent interior designers of the moment, the challenge, to create a unique space within a singular building.
Although Casa Decor was born in 1992 in the Salamanca neighborhood, where it has held 13 editions (Goya, Velázquez, Pº de Recoletos, Pº de la Castellana, Príncipe de Vergara, Jorge Juan, etc.), for the first time it is coming to the emblematic Serrano street.
This fact has not been circumstantial, but chosen with the intention of celebrating a luxury edition in one of the most iconic commercial arteries of the capital. In this way, it will be an edition that will be naturally integrated into the exclusive offer offered by Madrid’s Golden Mile.
This year Casa Decor has been held in the building of Serrano 92, built around 1929, the building has 4,000 m2, distributed in ground and three floors. The exterior facade, which faces Serrano, has harmonious and symmetrical lines and a neoclassical layout.
The first floor, with two rooms on each side of the portal, is composed of five semicircular arches, with stone plinth and panels. Each floor has 7 corner windows, the side windows being glazed. The 21 façade openings change the discreet ornamentation of the window according to the floor plan.

This stage will be the blank canvas to showcase the latest trends in interior design, design and lifestyle, from the hand of professionals and leading brands in the sector.
In total, 50 spaces will be adapted and will be intervened by the most important professionals and firms in the sector. Despite its rehabilitation as offices, some spaces still retain traces of the old houses: high ceilings, melis pine floors, wooden balconies, ironwork and doors of the time.
And among these spaces that we have personally visited CRONOTOPOS shows some of his favorites.

Nais Space – Toilets for public use “Balad” MARTA MELIÁN AND CLAUDIA RIBAGORDA

Inspired by the courtyard of a country house in Marrakech, the designs try to reflect the air, the water, the flowers, the singing of the birds… Connecting with nature in order to find inner peace.

Espacio Argo Arquitectura – Entrance hall “Serrano 92 Plans and backgrounds” MARTÍN DE GOYA

In this small welcoming space, the ARGO team wanted to transmit through the architecture of different planes and backgrounds the warmth of a space that you discover little by little as you enter through the access door from the central access core of the building.
Each of the different planes of the space dialogue with each other with different materialities and tonalities that, being different, create a harmonious and homogeneous whole.

ITA Space – Italian Trade Agency – “Sospiro!” Exhibition BEATRIZ SILVEIRA

Sigh! … In Italy, design is breathed at birth from the first breath! This room is elegant, cozy, harmonious. In short, a place where you can breathe in Italian aesthetics and know-how in a heartbeat.
Different materials coexist in this space: natural stone from northern Italy, wood in the handcrafted design and Murano glass in the art.

Bang & Olufsen Space – “Meraki” Lounge MIRIAM ALÍA MATEO

Inspired by the transformation of colors and light in space-time, two inseparably related concepts. Experimentation with color graduation and light, like sound, are sensory elements with which we create an enveloping atmosphere.
The essential, finding peace and refuge, that emotional link with home, that inspires.

Wow Design Space – Conceptual “Home, Sweet Home “SUMMUMSTUDIO

It is a surprising and disruptive architectural proposal, capable of “turning upside down” the rules of interior design, turning the space into a sensory game where the gravitational concept and perspective will play a crucial role, to turn the client’s visit into an immersive experience in a fantasy universe, where ceramics play a leading role. Based on ceramics, they used reflections to expand the space and multiply the magic and sensation of weightlessness and infinity.
