Housing for a movie buff

Interior design and renovation in Zaragoza

The result of the project is a sequence of spaces and a single space in sequence.
Like the frames in a movie, it relates a way of life that speaks of the client as a film scriptwriter, of the house with the reuse of its original materials and of the architectural studio as a filter that manages to unite different CRONOS in a single TOPOS space.

The home caters to the needs of the client with a modern organization of serving and served spaces.
On the one hand, there is a service area with laundry, kitchen, access, ambulatory and bathroom and, on the other hand, a TOPOS in sequence that allows it to be a single fluid space – loft or four different ones differentiating between master bedroom, secondary bedroom, living room, dining room and terrace.
The living spaces of the house are emphasized with several gable roofs that generate the necessary compressions and expansions and, in turn, are used as a support to locate some movable partitions that do more to connect and duplicate than to make them independent.

The materials used in the house are a fusion between the history of the place, reusing and relocating existing hydraulic floor and bringing to light a wall of Aragonese brick laid with tambourine.
Oak wood, mirrors and the abstraction of white generate a canvas where our film buff places all those details that represent and inspire him in his professional practice.

Energetically the house is insulated throughout its perimeter using SATE in its walls and interior thermal insulation in its false ceilings. In this way, it is not only used for the generation of two-sided volumes, but also for
The building is not only visually richer, but also provides the correct separation of the thermal difference between the exterior and the interior through a modulated air chamber complemented by insulation.
The lighting is intended to disappear through indirect lights located at the junctions between the roof and the wall, as well as hidden between a kind of louvers that mark a strong directionality in the service area.
The air conditioning and DHW installations follow the storyline and are located in the false ceiling of the services mezzanine, thus providing service to the entire project.
The house is and will be even more a controlled representation of our client’s life, a changing space that adapts to its evolution in an instantaneous way without forgetting the essence of the pre-existence.
