Life at two heights

Interior design project in Zaragoza

The Rosae building is a development consisting of 130 new Passivhaus homes. It is located in the Montecanal neighborhood of Zaragoza. It has various facilities such as swimming pools and sports courts. Sandra and Alfonso live there and asked us for an interior design project for their home. They wanted it to reflect contemporaneity and dynamism.

Passivhaus certification means that maximum comfort is achieved with minimum energy. In this case it is a duplex. A two-height space is the main element, a white wall remains and there is the possibility for the studio to provide a custom collage to complement the interior design. This is an example created by our collaborator Sara Zanigni.

The main room consists of a space flooded with light. The high ceiling belongs to the living area, while the low ceiling belongs to the dining area. This architectural contribution has been used to differentiate these spaces of different uses but that can work together.

Contemporary and homogeneous lines draw the geometry of the main space. The television has been integrated into the wall in a way that gives continuity to that image of cleanliness and perfection that this interior design seeks.

With respect to the furniture chosen, special care has been taken in their aesthetics and this is a matter that must be constantly reviewed. These are the elements that give life to the space, those that make it useful, habitable. In general, they can be used to add a lot of character to the design of the house. Customers should feel comfortable with the chosen furniture because it will be part of their lives, it will be present in their daily lives. For the designer, interior design and finishing is also a key issue. No matter how well a project is executed, sometimes the finishing touches can be decisive.

The interior design (in addition to the main room and bedroom) has been taken to the bathrooms, unifying the children’s toilet and bathroom, to provide it with shower and bathtub; and treating the master bedroom. Pastel colors have continued to be used in combination with textures and stone finishes. The faucet is metallic, with a nostalgic copper color.

All proposals will be contrasted with Sandra and Alfonso’s tastes, in order to achieve the best possible result.
